I threw together a <a href="http://scott.sherrillmix.com/blog/blogger/wp_folksonomy/" rel="nofollow">rough folksonomy plugin</a>. Is that what you were thinking of? Let me know if you have any suggestions.

it actually would be easy to aggregate because technorati will slurp up the tags automatically (if pinged as normal, which is automatic). i think users will definitely be motivated to use it once they see how easy it is. Its juts loike wikipedia, but scaled smaller - a form of user interaction. its akin to commenting in fact, and you migh tap into the comment system for some of the functionality. If you give this a shot i will make sure haibane.info is a live testbed for you.

I wonder how you motivate users to use it though. I don't see any benefit to them unless they're aggregated across blogs. I wonder if there are any plugins to grab tags from del.icio.us.

Actually that's a pretty good idea and like most good ideas it's hard to believe people aren't already doing it. I might look into that while I have a bit of free time.
